How many miles between fillups on your Z1s and KZ900s? was created by Robb2018
I have a pingel petcock with no reserve, just on/off on my KZ900. I usually try to not push a tank over 100 miles to be on the safe side. Just wondering what you all get on yours and how conservative I'm being. There's still still seems to be a good bit of gas in the tank when I fill up but it's hard to say exactly. I haven't figured the mileage yet on the bike because it's got fresh paint and don't want to fill it all the way up.

With stock carbs I got 130 miles until reserve dependable. With my 33's it was 80-100 depending. Now I'm getting 42MPG again it should be 130 again but I haven't been on a long ride since. 100 miles is a safe way to look at it.

We run 120 to 150 mi. before going on reserve on any of our Z1's with OEM VM28 carbs & stock airboxes. Some of the main fuel supply standpipes on the petcocks are taller than others, accounting for the differences. Steve's mileage is in line with what we get. This is when cruising at reasonably lawful velocities.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I get about 120 miles on a tank on both my Z1B's....all stock. One has a close ratio tranny and revs higher than the other one but both get about the same mpg.
