Has anyone tried vaseline to store their sealants to prevent them from hardening?
I saw this storage tip video for gasket makers & rtv.

I don't like it. The vaseline will contaminate the sealant. You would have to squeeze off a goodly portion of sealant in order to be sure no vaseline is present before you could use the sealant. Seems needlessly fiddly. If the sealant has hardened up on the end you can drill down to create a path to the soft stuff...or throw the tube away since it's no doubt way past it's expiration date anyway.

I just use a bolt. This tube is two years old. Just used it yesterday. B)
