Hey everyone. I spent the day in the American history museum in DC today and found this sitting in the automotive exibit. It's probably the cleanest 1000P I've ever seen

By looking at wheels and brakes, I would say 76 900.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

CHIP's had a 75 and one had a 76 in the beginning. They went to the 1000's later.

Been on the lookout for one of these beauty's, this is the first one I see with spokes and single front brake, so it may be earlier than 76.

The sign next to the bike said it was an original California Highway Patrol bike. It didn't specify an exact year or model. I just assumed it was a KZ1000P

Looks like a KZ 900 by the caliper, hub and side cover.

It's a 76 900. I saw it about a year ago and planned to go back and take a picture to post when I had the chance. I impressed my son-in-law by identifying it as a 76 from across the room (900 side badges and black rubber plugs on the carb shaft ends). It does have a small sign identifying it as a 76 KZ900P.

Then it would be a Z1 and sport reflector forks, different hub, etc.
