Hey Everyone!

Your bike is a 750-4 Ltd chain drive. closest match = 80-83 KZ750-H1/2/3/4. most stuff is the same.
The 81-83 650-csr shares a number of parts with the Ltd. same ign & charging sys. most chrome stuff.
next would be the 80-82 KZ750-E1/2/3, but the 750E is a standard model. some stuff will interchange, but it depends upon the part

The "model" numbers can be confusing. When you are looking for Kwaker parts you will run into 2 categories of model numbers, the production model or the one listed on the frame label and the marketing model the one on the side cover they usually don't match at all. These get confused all the time what makes it worse is those that aren't familiar with the 2 separate systems will mix up the 2 designations.
For example my bike is a GPz750, Since it's a 1982 the production model is KZ750R1. I have to look for parts in many combinations using those 2 model designations AND the model year especially since it's a one off model. Many times I will find parts listed as fitting GPz750R(1) which isn't correct at all but helps distinguish it from later GPz750 models which were ZX750 production models. Another issue is that in European market the "K" was dropped from the model designations so over there my bike's production model is the Z750R1.
It's taken a little while but I have figured out most of the combinations of model designations i need to use to find parts for my bike. I've also figured out what models have some identical and/or interchangeable parts.
One thing that is good to know is that the ZR7 (production model ZR750) That was built from about 99-05 has used a slightly updated KZ750 engine and many parts will bolt onto the KZ650s and KZ750s with no or minor mods.
Good luck and we look forward to seeing your project thread and the biggest rule around here is you must take and post many, many pics.

KZ750 twin models can be identified with the acrostic phrase: My Kawasaki By God.
My Kawasaki By God.
4 words = 4 B models and 4 non-B models
Yes, I know.
Kawasaki KZ750 750cc 4-cycle twin
1976 Kawasaki KZ750-B1
1977 Kawasaki KZ750-B2
1978 Kawasaki KZ750-B3
1979 Kawasaki KZ750-B4
1980 Kawasaki KZ750-G1
1982 Kawasaki KZ750-M1
1983 Kawasaki KZ750-K1
1984 Kawasaki KZ750-K2
Per KZXr member, steell:
76-79 KZ750 were the "B" model, single disc front and rear with wire spoke wheels.
1980 KZ750G, pretty much the same as the "B", but with rear drum brake and mag wheels.
1981 model 750 twin doesn't exist.
1982 KZ750M1 CSR, same motor as the "B" and "G", with air injection into the exhaust, with wire wheels and rear drum brake.
1983 KZ750K1, same as M1 except for belt drive.
1984 KZ750K2, Canada only, same as K1.
Good Fortune!

I'm thinking about buying a tank from a 81 spectre 1100. It looks like it'll fit fine with some minor adjustments but I dont want to drop over 100 dollars if its not going to sit right. Have you had any luck with Specture parts? should it work on my kz750?
