Parts Back From Paint - Father-in-Law's CB750

So long story short, got my father-in-law back into riding after like 30 years of not. Found and delivered to him his dream bike, a 1972 Honda CB750. Had about 12K on it IIRC. He has never wanted to restore it, but I keep poking him with a stick whenever I am in town. We I think he is finally getting the bug and coming along nicely. The side covers were damaged and the bike was the Briar Brown Metallic with gold striping (UPS truck.....). So while he was researching his bike, he came across a color that was only available in Japan and fell in love. So since I have a painter I have been using, we ordered up the new parts, and while meeting up in Gatlinburg TN for vacation did the hand off and I carried it back to South Carolina. Just picked it up yesterday. It actually got in front of my KZ parts at the body shop, so now those got delayed! lol Damn Hondas......

We used a new Ford color called Ingot Silver Metallic. Blocked it out, all metal imperfections are gone and 6 coats of two part urethane clear and she is like glass. Not bad for a "rider" paint job.

Will deliver next weekend when we meet the in-laws in Chattanooga. He has been chomping at the bit for the last month because he couldn't ride.....lol.

Yeah I really like Chat. Used to visit there a number of times when I was younger. My wife wanted to go to Lodge Cast Iron open house/festival they put on every year so we are spending a long weekend with them in Chattanooga.

I liked the CB 750 but my friends had Z1's. Didn't want to be walked away from like on my 350 so I got a Z1b. :woohoo: Never looked back.
