Over the past 5 years I have sold a couple hundred items on eBay; most were not related to motorcycles. Recently, I have had a few deadbeat bidders who did not follow through and pay for the items they won. In doing some research there appears to be a recent epidemic of deadbeat bidders; many folks have complained about the recent increase in such bidding. Clearly, eBay isn’t taking any meaningful steps to address this problem even though they have ways to do so.

After my current transactions are completed I will not have the deadbeat problem anymore because from now on I will use “Buy It Now” with the “Immediate Payment Required” option. This will solve the deadbeat bidder problem for me. However, I did want to give a heads-up for anyone else selling on eBay. If you are not using the But It Now option you may want to block bids from “viciouscycles1973” and “josfigue_rfgyogaj”. These are the latest two A-holes who bid on motorcycle related items, won, but didn’t pay. They even sent me emails saying they would pay in a couple days, but of course they did not follow through. I had the same problem. I set my block bidders at 2 non pay. Can't go less than that. Got disgusted with eBay so I don't sell anymore.

Yup. I've always had my options set to block 2 non pay too. Unfortunately, after a couple deadbeat wins non-payers simply open up a new eBay account with a different ID and start all over again. eBay could prevent this, but they don't care. Ed

I hate the collusion with eBay and PayPal... loosing nearly 10% of every sale to eBay and PayPal.
Plus, eBay/PayPal says the buyer is ALWAYS right in any transaction and I've been scammed by a few buyers who got PayPal and eBay to extort money from me... WEEKS later.
