Value of different KZ1000 and KZ1100 models.

It seems like shaft models have lower value than chain models.
Is there interest in J models? Some guy wanted my J frame and motor case.
Do KZ1100 have more value than KZ1000?
81 KZ1100A shaft has 108 HP, do they have higher value?
78 R models with square fuel tank seem to have higher value, but they don't have even 1 more HP than other models.
Do GPZs have high value?

From high to low it's probably;
73 z1
Z1
Mkii
Z1r
Kz900
Gpz11
Kz1000 standard
900/1000 ltd
Kz1000J

Then the other crap (shaft 1000, kz1100, non duck tail 1000's cop bikes etc.) firmly at the bottom. Quick generalization. HP don't mean a thing with these old hunks of junk, they don't have it, they're a blast, but old and starting to show it.

If you're looking at value as paying the least. Look at the listing backwards and buy the cheapest and just have fun

I would have assumed that the 1000R (ELR) would be near the top.

Yeah, I forgot about that ELR, probably #2, well three if you include the S1

The shaft models are not usually considered performance bikes, just cruisers. Folks who want a kz tend to toss a long swingarm and fat tire in them to look cool. Cant do that on a shaft, makes the price low

Yeah...the fabled S1...the most recent one I am aware to be sold went for $107,000 and change...beats the Z1's all to hell. :)

If we are throwing in the rickmans we cant forget the harris magnum or the egli. But then we are getting a bit too crazy.
And I dont like splitting the Z1 into years (forget the 72 crap, that's an early 73... Just like there isn't a 64 1/2 mustang or a 70 1/2 camaro. Find me official literature that says otherwise...)
