Mirror recomendations for a KZ440 was created by BornAgainBiker
Hi All,
I recently changed the handlebars on my 1984 KZ440 ltd from the original buckhorn bars to a superbike bend. On my first ride after the switch, I quickly discovered that the original mirror arms are way too short for the new bars--I really can't see behind me at all. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good set mirrors for this set-up?
P.S. I don't really want to get into bar-end mirrors.

Maybe some bar clamp mirrors for peering under your arms.

The "bug" look doesn't bother me in the least. I like having a good easy view around me & not be distracted by unsuitable mirrors. The 80s standard models should have long stem mirrors w convex glass, and oem don't vibrate or at least not as bad as aftermarket.
Search eebbaayy for oem mirrors from these models --- KZ750E. 1000J. 1100A. & maybe 550A, 750L & 700A. Some of those bikes have rectangular or trapezoidal mirrors. Good used are going to run $15-20 or so each. nos are usually priced higher. Alternatively, if your mirrors are good, you might be able to add extenders or risers. not sure what size the threads are, but an automotive gear shift extender might work. M10 x 1.25 thread pitch, maybe???
