A #3 phillips bit works fine. Don't scare the man. :S
I've got a philllips impact driver which has on the one hand worked great for phillips screws, but on the other hand stripped out a JIS screw for me. I also have these impact-like screwdrivers.. see www.amazon.com/Vessel-Megadora-Impacta-P...driver/dp/B003BGZ9CO . They idea is that they are solid screwdrivers, but have the impact driver mechanism built into the handle. Anyone tried one yet? They work great as screwdrivers, but that's all I've used them for.
I have not tried one of those, but any time I see a tool with such a long, overly impressive, made up name, I immediately suspect that there is more marketing than tool.

I don't need to crack the case open to replace the pushrod? I had assumed I would for that, even the case wasn't cracked as I had originally suspected.

A somewhat gentle pull of the clutch pushrod didn't take it out, but it is bent and may need some more force behind it.
Nessism, thanks, I could very much use that oil seal kit. I'll PM you.

Just leaving this here for others' reference in the future. They have made good screwdrivers, like I said, but I just dealt with 3 stuck screws, and this Megadora driver's 'impact feature' didn't do anything for them. A standard heavy handheld impact driver loosened each screw up easily.
