Starting to buy gaskets. I'll pick up a new center roller and front guide too. The 1075 kit I was watching has been taken off eBay. He said something about it being damaged and he won't be available until after the holidays. It doesn't even show up in my watch list. It was a Wiseco cast piston set with barrels. The pistons aren't made anymore so I suspect that's why he pulled the ad. My cast pistons lasted for 10 years until I damaged one by dry starts. I should have made him a offer but waited too long. Maybe eBay can find it. If so, I'll offer him $100. New rings will fit. As it is, I may have to have the ridge taken out to use my 1015's anyway. In any event I'm excited to get my 903 crank in and sell the Z2 750 crank on eBay. I'll get more ponies and some $$'s for more goodies for the bike. B)

Well it looks like I won't get my crank welded. Jeff looked at it and without a straight tip for his Mig he won't be able to get into the center pin. He suggested I ask about how it's done and what's involved. He speculated it is taken apart and welded in parts. After Googling it it seems it will need to be trued and balanced as well. My 750 crank was welded by V/H but I wasn't told how it was done. I found this in our archives and a few members are still here. Some advice would be appreciated.

In 78 when I put in my 1015 kit, I ran it until 86 with a bone stock crank not welded. I'm tempted to just put this one in and run it. If I decide to go 1075 later should I have it welded then? I'd like to bolt this puppy together and RIDE THE PISS OUT OF IT.:woohoo:

Never heard of any welders taking it apart to weld it. My 1000 crank was done by a local welding shop in 1979 and then when the turbo build was done Falicon took it apart and redid the whole thing as part of the Ultra Lite Super Crank process

Find a good welder or send it to APE, Pitstop, Pearson ,or Falicon

the general consensus is that unless you are going big/sticky tire and doing hard holes shot you won't need the crank welded even with the 1075 kit.

Tried to upload this clip but it was muted for copyright infringement. So I condensed it to take most of the background music out. I'm uploading the full version in another format. I'll see how it goes. Anyway I wanted to get a compression test before I tore this thing down. All I can say is WOW. It still runs like a scalded cat.:woohoo: It was warm and 90 psi at idle, 120 at rev. A couple more things to get. I already have one set of rings so I need three more. I think I'll get my valves tipped this time around. I have all the large ones. B)
