i just got my 84 900 ninja yesterday took it out for spin and its make a god offull noise in the motor and theres no third and 4th isnt really there either can i do any adjustmant to it

Is it possible that your clutch is slipping? What motor oil do you use? Ed

If you're lucky it might be your shift drum linkage spring is broken. Is there a cover behind the counter shaft sprocket? You may be able to inspect it there. Remove the clutch/drive chain cover to see. Pics will be helpful too.

am running 20-50 all the other gear run fine but the clutch was stuck in it and when i start in neutral sometime it jumps in to gear

what a tranny i got a drag tranny and motor in boxes i got i when i bought a parts bike or what do u mean a new a tranny or what and like was saying it making A God offull noise in the bottom its not knockin motor is stong it sound like a bunch of nut and bolt in a metal can being shock real hard

This is the shifting arm and spring on a Z1. They are similar on all models. The little spring on the selector forks might be broken or off and the return spring may be broken as I mentioned before.
