$40 77 gl1000

Got a phone call about this gem, doesnt have a title, should be able to clear that up though.

Looks like it was dripped leaving the bar or something, small hole in right valve cover scratched crash bar, damaged tach and side cover but it dies have a ratty seat and seems like it has compression, gonna check it out, but it's 99% there

Yeah it was one of those need it gone, phone calls, usually they come up with a crazy price that is more inline with a complete titled bike, this time when I gave the "i dont want it" offer he took it.

Knocked ten bucks off for the broken side cover and other parts (all on right side) just need to source the side cover and valve cover, found a carb top laying around that looks right gonna have to play with it.

And it usually costs $75 for a lost/new title shouldnt be too bad

Looks like I need to find this thing a motor OR figure out how to fix it, or part it out? Kind of sad, been looking for a naked wing for a while, guess this one isnt it

thats a shame at least it wil be easy to make money on it or u could keep it as a parts bike for when u get the wing.

Motor was blown, hole in number two piston, valve let go, trashed the block and head. Ended up buying three bottom ends (trans/rotating assemblies and cases) and one head.




Then let it sit for WAY too long, bought my gs1000 and got her running (backyard toy for now until it gets fully sorted) and turned to getting this motor and bike together. Fired it up yesterday had tons of smoke debris and other garbage flying out the left side (the side that blew) but it runs again. Played with it just a little in the shed (no brakes or radiator) and called it a day. Guess I'm starting a one-litre muscle bike group on my own? (Gs1000/gl1000/kz1000)

Still under $300 but definately no longer $40.

Had to, been sitting in my shed for 10 months now; just got it fired up yesterday, which makes it the longest i had a bike that didnt run.

From what i've heard the exhaust should be worth north of $250 alone. But I really don't like breaking bikes that much. A few steps to go and then I just need to title it; which is either going to court or finding a piece of paper

In California you send a registered letter to the old owner. If it comes back your good to go.

Basically same here; Or go infront of a judge and say you own it legally. One way is $40, the other is $200+

Cool you got it going, I've been on the lookout for a GL,I like the naked wings. You can get a full dresser in nice shape and sell all the crap off if for damn near what you paid for the whole bike. I hate the carbs on those things though, very fragile in my experience. You got a great bike for $300 and some sweat equity! Enjoy!

Decided to cut down and recover the aftermarket seat that came with the bike, doesn't look too bad, but i need more practice on recovering seats. Also going to ditch the floorboards, i dont care for the heel toe setup.

In other news I'm going to part with at least one kz now (my 80ltd 1000 parts bike, and maybe the 550)
