I personally like the look of the finned collars but they are a PITA to clean.

Total Stock build then sure stay with the crowned collars....

Customs.... On your build as mine, the newer top collars with out a doubt.... Not just for looks but for fit as well...

the aluminum exhaust pipe holders from 1981 up B) , look better on any bike that is not pure stock :blink: IMO

I prefer the aluminum ones. For one they are not cast like the OEM ones. One of my original ones cracked in half. I'd you are not doing a restoration I would suggest the new style. I have a gently used set if you want pics send me a PM. I switched to a spring keeper race style header and do not need them. Had them on the bike less than 6 months but loved them.

Had my first set in 1991 from a turbo bike. I used the header pipe, the one that looks like a car header on a regular aspirated engine, should have seen the looks from people :lol:
Wish digital cameras were around back then.
Just sold a nice J set a month ago. milled and glass beaded only $32 bucks.

Billet. They fit better,clean up easier and polish nicely. With the extra weight savings you reduce mileage on the front wheel ;)
