I had a first generation and hated it. It was a 1990 in red I bought new. I managed 1300 miles and that was well enough for me. Good luck on yours though, many others have different thoughts, just did not appeal to me.

Just curious, how many brand new bikes have you bought in your lifetime?

The ones I can think of off hand,
1971 Yamaha HT1,1973 Yamaha CT3,1975 Yamaha DT400, 1976 Yamaha DT175, 1978 Kawasaki KZ650, 1981 Kawasaki GPZ550, 1982 Kawasaki GPZ1100, 1986 Yamaha FZ750, 1988 Yamaha FZR1000, 1989 Yamaha FJ1200, 1990 Kawasaki Concours 1000, 1991/92 BMW R100RS forget the year on this piece of German "engineering", 2008 Honda GL1800, 2008 Yamaha WR250R, 2012 Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere.
So I guess that is only 15 in 43 yrs time. Big drop off after the 1991/92 BMW because between that bike, the Concours and the FJ1200 I had 3 in a row I hated and between all 3 only covered about 3,000 miles.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
