need some info on 1976 kz750
13 Jul 2013 23:13 - 14 Jul 2013 20:47
ok so i bought a 1976 kz750 about 2 weeks ago and well i need some info on stuff like known issues, biggest things to replace or upgrade on the bike. right now its very rough...needs to be cleaned up painted and what not but i cannot complain for what i paid
oh and if i put this in the wrong spot please correct me....i just didnt see it fitting into one category
so some things id like to know are these
best plugs?
most recommended oil
most prefered tires?
exhaust systems to run ( missing a muffler)
headlight replacement
basically what i have is a fairly orginal bike thats missing a few things like muffler, front fender and clutch lever/perch. right now its not getting spark so im on the assumption its due to a failed condenser ( on order)

Welcome aboard! I have Pirelli Sport Demon tires and they work great. For the headlight I use one of these

They work great, are inexpensive, and last a very long time.
You may want to take a look at the link below for some info to get you started on the right track with your "new" bike. Ed

1980 KZ750G front fender is shorter and looks a whole lot nicer.
Grease the swing arm pivot, it's behind the down tube on the right side.
It has a separate regulator and rectifier, combined unit is available if yours craps out.
MAC is it for exhaust (aside from DIY), 2 into 2, or 2 into 1, your choice.
B7ES spark plugs (I think), someone will be correcting me if I'm wrong.
I run Shell Rotellat T 15W40, and so do a lot of other twin owners.
I converted to 17" radials, so can't help you with tire selection.
