CRS....What does it mean?

Likewise, it seems that "SR" and "CSR" were merely marketing marques and may have stood for something specific that has been forgotten and was never put into ad copy for posterity. It's also likely that they stood for nothing at all but just looked cool at the time.
Kawasaki apparently meant that no more KZ900 LTD's would be produced, which representation was technically correct, and lived up to.
Never mind the zillion KZ1000 LTD's later produced.
Good Fortune!

It was fairly common for Kawasaki to use all of the production run of Parts. No sales literature proclaimed 1977 KZ900's but you could walk into a Kawasaki showroom and leave with a 1977 KZ900 from leftover production run. We haven't seen a thread lately with a new member proclaiming to have a "1977" KZ900, but when it comes up, it's always a "Debate"..

CSR1000's came with Triple disc, and the leading axle, and the buckhorn handlebars. Making it a "Budget LTD", with spoke wheels. Not a big deal, just how it went.

WABBMW wrote: I asked this question years ago and never got an answer. I used to think that the SR model stood for Street Racer. And CSR was Cruising Street Racer. But I have never heard anything official.
Now "Martin_CSR" is a marketing genius, and developed the terminology:
Competition, Sport & Road.
This works for me.
That might work for you and Martin, but Martin spun a tale of Kawasaki marketing department using/borrowing that abbrev. from another marque. I believe his story was based on the Norton CSR models. I'm sure he'll be along to recant.
