The dark side

Saw this bike in the classifieds around here, thought it'd make a nice addition to the family. Right now I'm just going to do all the regularly scheduled maintenance so that she runs well again, remove the stupid hardlined oil cooler, put on a new set of mirrors and hand grips, and ride her for the summer. Then next winter I'm going to completely restore her. Its going to be easy because pretty much everything is there, just mainly requires refinishing.

She's a 1980 CB750 Supersports.

Yikes! Looking at that picture brings back memories! When I bought my KZ650-C1 in '77 I had almost bought a Ducati 750SS that looked like the Ducati in the background of your picture instead. That Ducati was really cool, but I'm glad I bought the KZ. Ed

The CB750F 900F and 1100F were all way cool bikes.

Can't go wrong with an F model...if I fell into a deal, I wouldn't hesitate.

I see that great minds think alike. I picked up this 82 CB750F last summer, but unfortunately we have been a little busy with the new house and new job. I'll get to it eventually.

Haha I thought you had one Josh. I see yours needs a little less work than mine. Mines a little ratty, but it'll be a nice project. I bought it to ride when it was maybe a little rainy for the 650, or so a buddy could ride with me from time to time. I've got all the maintenance parts coming, I need to check valve clearances, and I think I need a new starter clutch. Parts availability seems to be not the greatest for these.
