So I've come across a nice deal for this 76 KZ900.

Would love to pick it up. And its a two for one deal. Includes an old Honda CB500 Four. Bike is in great condition and the seller has all the parts. Problem, is I just bought a 76 KZ900 last May which I'm restoring, but don't have much time to work on. Doesn't make sense to pick up two more project bikes. Does it? And the hardest part would be to get the wife to agree to it. Not mush justification for it. I already used up the "Have to have a bike since I could be killed tomorrow crossing the street and not have enjoyed one of my passions :( " , argument on the last bike. I think I may be able to convince her on the 500, though. It should be cheap, and has sentimental value from my childhood. Only enough room form one more bike in the garage anyhow. Here is a photo of it.

Don't know what will happen. Its a long shot. Pardon my rant...needed to talk to someone who understands. Wish me luck.

If you can get them but only keep one of them I would say goodbye to that Honda. ;)

I know what you're saying, Ed. But the only reason I was considering the 900 was to replace the one I have know. Mine has some compression issues and not sure if its stuck rings or needs a rebuild. Haven't put more than a few miles on it so far. This 900 has about 300 miles after a rebuild, done professionally by a local racing shop (although kept stock). So my idea was to buy this one and sell mine, hopefully a very small spread in cost and end up with two bikes. Don't really want two KZ900's. Maybe if the models were different (different years, etc).

Hahahahaha, @gengomerpyle, I like your way of thinking. That's not a bad a proposition. But, where I live it would be though. He wants $1600 for both. But I'm sure I can negotiate the price. As for the Honda, I actually would love to have a CB400 Super Sport Four instead. The would be a no brainer for me. I just spoke to my better half and mentioned about me getting some cash for Christmas gifts from her parents and mine. So she knows something is up. :P :P :P :P

If you dont have time to work on a kz, you certainly dont have time to work on a Honda, ever been inside one of them, sheeeeeeeeeesh! save your bucks! put the money in your bike, I wish i could count the times someone told me........Its been rebuilt by a professional, only later to find the so called professional was a moron. ;)

Look at it this way. With three bikes you should always have at least one that's ridable. That gives you the ability to do better on the ones your working on because you aren't rushed to get it on the road. Being the owner of 3 bikes makes me qualified to answer this.

Spare parts.... B)

Example in my recent dilemma.. :pinch:
Bought a POS '78 KZ1000 with plans to restore another... Recent piston vaporization and blown whole in my KZ900 engine case, not good....

Upside, already have a spare engine that is for the most part 99% interchangeable...
All good... B)

My plea with Wifey Poo....
"Honey, I don't take drugs (any longer anyways), I don't drink (any longer anyways), I don't chase other women (screw that BS), my passion is old KZ's OR.... I become a Crack Head.... Your choice!"

See, all good...
