AWESOME Goose replica, Joe! I'm always kind of toying with the idea of making one myself. Never had the courage to take the plunge, though. However, in Japan I'd go with a Zephyr 750 for a base bike, Z1's and KZ900/1000s are way too expensive to buy and maintain over here, especially when one fators in the additional costs required to make the Goose conversion. The fairing alone is 250000 yen from Whitehouse, that's about 3000USD.

Thank you, Bill!
Yes, i know all about the Whitehouse-kit and their prices, ( additional, i´ve request for several times that company in 2005/6, and never got an answer!!!)----ANYWAY !!
The picture above was my "old",. means, build up in 2006-bike i´ve sold in 2009...
after that, i´ve done the job, to build up my own molds for an fairing-kit...and build this whole year a new one..see pictures :)

Hi Joe, it would be interesting if you shared how you went about making your body panels (at least in general terms, in new thread maybe). Especially if you have pictures. They came out very professional. I'm not planing on doing anything right now, but maybe in the future it will inspire me to do so. I know you had the old panels to copy. No matter, it would make interesting reading. I'm sure there's others here that would be interested as well.

It had to be to nice and simple, just to copy an existing fairing  !! ( ..and of course, it had save me away from a lot of 100´s of hours and lot of bucks also!!!)

I´ve started with an old and cracky amoroo fairing which was made for a Honda CX500 in the early 80´s.
The measurements/ dimensions were different to fit a z1000 or similar bikes, the design also: It hadn´t had the typical "chin" under the headlight-hole, just a sharp-lip..two "bay-areas" beneath..shorten told, a total other layout. far later-style-layouts( 4-generations) from the legendary original-one.( You know, you can´t buy the original-movie-one since more than 30 years!)

So, i´ve cut it in pieces, straighten and lenghten it to get the right dimensions, cut out the few areas i don´t have wanted, made new layouts and patterns from cardboard, and started the fiberwork with glass + resin and re-inforcements to "cre-create" the style, that "touches" the original...watchin`the movie-bike-scenes every evening 20-times and more to "catch" the right layout and making me drawings and designs was part of the buisiness...so, more than 250 H´rs flew away before i´ve had the result i`ve wanted ( lot´s of trials and errors includet)
Than, i had to lenghten again ALL the edges, and stabilize all the inner structures by plywood and steel, to give the new fairing the strenght to made a mold from...
After that all, i had to find an professional fiberworker, who was willing to made the molds...also, find a company, who made the screens for me,( of course,..after i had made the pattern for that..)

That´s the whole story...i´ve build up this , because it was impossible for me, to find/get the original one in the last 25 years i´ve searched for...so, it was the only way for me, made it by myself...and now, i have it!!! (done )
Thanks for your attention!!! ;)
