Excellent pics. A lot of guys are only following the photo thread to watch the progress rather than all the ins and outs of planning. So you might want to post them over there.

Yeah, if only I looked that good!

I'll take some more photos today when I meet asevans and Les Holt for the Indiana hand-off then I'll load what I have up later this afternoon.

Was pretty cool out yesterday but with the right gear you stay plenty warm even on a naked bike.

Today is clearing off right now, 49°F, no wind but 97% humidity with foggy patches
Should be a repeat of yesterday topping out around 79°F but I'll be home way before that!

I filled in the journal and hope the rest of you relayers from here out do too! Take the time to put your thoughts to paper in it, we can't all meet up so this is a chance to say hello on down the line!

I really appreciate the patches and stickers, not to mention the opportunity to do this!

Gotta go, time to roll!

All in all a great day, meeting great people and some good riding in. A big thank you goes out to asevans on my part, I'll explain in a minute.
Left my home at 7:30 at a balmy 48 deg. outside. Here's my first pic of the day.

Made the hookup with asevans perfectly, topped off tanks and headed to meet Rage, half way there things went bad for me, 113 miles into the day,but we still managed to hook up with Rage but running a little late. Here's the handoff from rage to asevans.

Back on the road I ride with asevans, literally, to his house and wait on my support lady to haul my broken bike home. asevans was kind enough to go with us to pick up the bike. Back to his home we do our handoff ceremony. Here's that pic.

Now to explain my shortcomings in this day. We were just crusing when mine dies, just a little thump from the motor, come to a stop and I have ZERO compression, suspected broken cam chain. Well, that was it, got 4 valves in the process. So, here is how my day ended.

I'll be up and running by Friday so I can put some test miles on and be ready for next Sunday. Sorry to have disappointed anyone, the flag traveled with my bike for bout 90 miles, in the back of our truck.
Promise, I'll do better next weekend.

Damn Les thats to bad. But Id rather see it travel on an old bike in a truck than a postal van. Hope your repairs go well and your up and running soon.

Hate it for you Les. Is that from high mileage or high rate valve springs? What is the recommended life of a timing chain? Too lazy to look in the book.
