Moriwaki cover
07 Sep 2011 05:18
I recently saw a picture of a Z1R with a Moriwaki points cover. I have been thinking about getting one since they look very "race" to me, however I wasn't planning on having any Moriwaki parts on my bike. Im curious what peoples opinions are regarding putting something like this on my bike and not using any Moriwaki parts. seems a bit sacrilegious to me, but goddamn it looks cool.

id say 99% of that kind of stuff you see on bikes is purely cosmetic,i on the other hand prefer to keep em guessing!

I have a Moriwaki points cover as well as a "Beet" points cover. I love these kinds of cosmetic updgrades because they look great, and dont require any type irreversable modifications.
However, I did buy both of these points covers when I lived in Japan, I have never seen one for sale in america before. Most people are not even familiar with these brands. If you find a place that sells these, please let me know!!!! My Moriwaki points cover is is a little rough from being laid down, would love to find a new one.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNot cheap. It says the seller is away and you can put the item in your watch list for later purchase.

Moriwaki or any other manufacture would love for people to display their brand name. More advertising exposure and they get to sell the part as well. If they don't mind, why should anyone else?

Re: Moriwaki cover
07 Sep 2011 14:02Nice "Yankee" bike there, I love it! I agree that moriwaki should love the exposure they are getting from these point covers, although sadly none of these racing companies are what they used to be. The "popular" motorcycles in Japan right now are Harleys and "big scooters". Most of the exhausts that moriwaki makes today are for "big scooters". The popularity of race bikes died in the 90's about the same time as the collapse of the japanese economy.
Since then, all japanese men have gone completely insane and would prefer to drop $10,000 on a 3-wheeled "big scooter" with LED lights and loud exhausts. Sports bikes are so unpopular now, when I lived in japan, I bought my CBR250RR for $400!!! AND IT WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION!! ONLY 10,000 ORIGINAL KILOMETERS!!!
Yoshimura is the only company still doing well, due entirely to their popularity in america. Have you noticed that almost all yoshimura silencers today have an american flag on them? Made for the american market, not sold in japan.

Didn't Yoshimura make points covers too?
I'm sure it wouldn't take too much to CNC one from a billet.
