Specifically, a tad over 4000 were made...I suspect you'll find a disproportionate number in Japan ;)

Is that 4000 of the blue 1979 model MKII's? If that's true I'll feel even worse that I painted mine back in the early 90's...

hey that looks familiar...cant quite place it though....gimmie a sec...no....no........hmmmm........oh thats it...thats my bike.,...:P

I still have it registered as a 1978 kz1000.

oh hey me too...the gal said it was a 900 at first...it says 82 on the title and i cant talk the dmv out of it...i told the gal i would like to fix it and she said it was very hard to reset it again ...they could care less...old p.o.s in their opinion i bet...or out of the loop ect...either way i never looked into it cause it says on the steering vin...79 A3A

mine was 600 too...and i am gonna find more i bet...lol

Greg painted it blue...but i have not tried to find out what color it was and dont remember if he found anything under the gray it was....either way it is blue...a nerdy non rider imo guy at the cannery row bike night was walking around with a cute chick and a check book and walking up to people with old bikes making offers....i did not hear him as he walked away but Amy said he said 8000.00...16xxx and i might...but really 8000 for my MKII that i like a lot...not

I know , i know...16xxx is way too much and if it was 10,000 miles bone stock survivor of the days it still would not hit 16xxx.....well...ok then...i'll keep it....and he can keep his 8000...because imo...an item be it a feather or a cruise ship...or a half nice rare MKII.....is worth whatever the owner and offering party can agree on.....if someone has money and wants a MKII...there are only so many to be had....and of those only so many are in market...ect.....ect....you want it,and money is not an issue for you...you offer until it is sold to you....or wait
