I don't mean anything personal on this particular speciman if you can call it that, which looks nice, but my god what junk a turbo bike is. 8000 mles on a turbo is equiv to 100,000 on a regular so bid accordingly, I wouldn't pay any money for the TC. I sold mine with 800 miles for $6500 and was so damn happy to say good ridance. What JUNK. OK sorry, I like a motorcycle I can actually RIDE. You can't ride a TC becuse it's a piece of horse sheet.

LOL, I can understand where your coming from. Everyone here has likely purchased something they thought was the cats arse only to find they didnt actualy like it. But hey, it musta been OK or ya wouldnt have bought it in the first place :)

Well I'll still call the TC junk. I've owned countless motorcycles, some I liked, some I really liked a lot, some I didn't like, some I hated, but only two are in the junk catagory and that is the Z1R-TC and the Yamaha FJ1200. To be honest the FJ1200 was more "junk" than the TC, so the TC falls like #68 favorite bike I've owned out of 69 so it's not the worst choice.:) The Molly paint job was a repaint applied right over the silver Z1R paintwork out in California, had no clear coat and was really not a fabulous job to say the least. Then you get that turbo with the Zenith carb, that has no power until the engine is wrapped up to 9000rpm then woo-hoo, but at normal drive mode you are surging, stammering at 10hp, turn on the throttle and see that bike take off like a rocket, like a KZ250 rocket. You can shift down 3 gears and be at 9000rpm though and all is well. This is not a pleasant way to ride for me. Junk, no other sugar coated word for it.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I had a 77 KZ1000 with an old ATP log pipe setup about 25 years ago, and it actually ran ok with the one carb. Maybe down 20 horse or so, but really woke up around 5000 or 6000rpm. Got those 20 back, with maybe another 30-40 more. Stock engine, 7 lbs. boost.

$19,000 seems like a lot for that bike. I guess I'm just cheap. Ed
