Topper, the tachometer cable (right side of the head above the exhaust) is missing as well as at least one of the cam cover bolts (above the tach cable port).

Good Luck

Not that it would be a deal breaker, but I'd look for the date on the tires. Tire makers do stamp the week and year the tire was made and anything older than 3 years is too hard IMHO. So, bargaining chip for you if they're too old. Then chain and sprocket wear, run your fingers UNDER the exhaust for holes, and anything that looks old and worn out.
Good luck!

kz750.com and kz750twins.com are the same site.
I have no idea why :S

And for an interesting read go to the least active 750 twin site that I've ever seen, and it's run by a (former?) member of KZR.

I got a little more history on the bike, but I'm afraid it didn't tell me much.

Current owner was told he's the third owner. He's hardly ridden the bike and has done no work on it. He got another bigger bike a week after buying this one and then had an accident and busted up his knee. Sounds like he collects bikes and now he's cleaning out the garage because he can't ride much anymore.

He confirmed that the tach cable is missing. Previous owner said he bought one online but it was too long and so didn't put it on the bike. Current owner has the too long cable and it comes with the bike. I can't imagine why I would want it though.

Previous owner had the inside of the tank professionally cleaned and lined.

He claims the bike starts and runs fine without any problems (other than tach). It does not have tags or current inspection.

I'm pretty tempted by this and the price is right even if the bike has a few minor issues. If it has major issues, not so much.

I'm going to knock off work early tomorrow and go check it out. Its about a 2.5 hour drive for me, so I hope its worth it!

Thanks for all the help. I'll let you know whether or not I come home the proud owner of a '79 KZ750 tomorrow.
