That's correct...no definite data on a tank swap. I get the same thing with the MKII vs ST seat. Everyone tells me it won't work but nobody has actually ever tried it. I recently found a seat for sale and the factory kawasaki sticker on it listed "A4/E2". I can't find out of this means that the seats are the same or just that the sticker was used on both seats. Lots of opinions...no facts. I see some cheap ST's for sale around here from time to tome....might have to pick one up and put this conjecture to rest once and for all.
The Kaw List:
Current: 79 KZ1000 A3 MKII, 78 KZ1000 A2, 78 KZ1000 Z1-R, 78 KZ650 SR, 80 KE175
Former: 03 KLX400SR, 99 ZRX1000, 82 KZ750 LTD, 80 KZ1000 A4 MKII, 80 KZ1000 LTD, 78 KZ1000 A2, 74 H-2 750 Triple, 78 KL250

Great thread with lots of good info.
So no one has tried the swap of tanks and we still have no 100% for sure yes or no

Yes, I have not tried this, so I am 100% not sure.
I do have a nice set of side covers for a shaft bike though.
