Are the ST's very rare? My buddy has a '79. It's about 2 good weeks worth of work and cleaning away from being an everyday rider... but for some reason he can't find the motivation... ??? ???
Anyway, here is his. Now, in 1980 the ST didn't have the MKII motor, correct?

does anyone have a MKII frame and an ST tank to try it on?
Like i mentioned ...yrs back we had the later squared Z-1R tank and it would not fit on the kz-z1 frames....
i wonder if that is true of an ST....the reason i am asking is that ST tanks are common and MKII tanks less so...
converting and ST engine would be over my head it sounds...but is there any difference in the internals of a A-3 MKII and many of the ltd models that appear the same outsides..ie..finned stator and points, sharper lines on the drive sprocket cover, squared cam covers....1979 ltd-1980 ltd......
I am in the process of buying a MKII frame and triples, and swingarm and am gonna do a spoke rim usd and modern brakes MKII

Really Craig? You are gonna give it a shot.... nice! Were you going to use irishwills triples or just convert the late model triples with a stem swap? Look, now I'm hijacking the thread. Back to your regular programming

nothing in this century..i have access to a frame and i have the extra body set...i would need to find a great deal local on a wrecked zx-9 or a zx12r front end...i have the fronts extra for a complete spoke kz onto the MKII...right now the MKII and KZ900 need a few things to be done...then other bikes await...just adding projects as deals arise and stockpiling,,,
would be fun though...i have room on the shelves to store it at least
It would be nice if i was a tad more motivated like you guys.......night shift sucks..I am always tired and cant sleep but a few hrs without waking up....short days of winter suck....i even have a nice couple KZ's that run at the moment and i have not even ridden them in a few weeks....i just had sat-sun-mon off ,if it wasnt raining i was either sleeping or typing away on here...i know the MKII will be next and really am close to dragging my bench back out when the rains let up and my days off match the rain off....but mostly i just stick parts on the shelves and wait for spring , watch recorded t.v and veg/sleep/work/veg/sleep/work
