Is it for real, a KZ350 triple? was created by jga2z
I thought I was up on things back in the 70's, but I don't ever remember seeing a KZ 350 triple before. Till i saw one here on craigslist today. no title 1976 KZ 350 still running for $350!!! Just tried to check again before posting this, but it's gone. Might have be an interesting little play thing??

currently 1982 LTD1000 UNI dual throat pods, MAC header Supertrapp muffler. Shoei fairing.
The good old days: 1977 KH 400 triple, 1978 KZ650B all the basic mods, My avatar a 1980 LTD 750, ditto on the mods

I may be wrong but I am 99% sure those are the old Kaw two stroke triples...

I believe my father in-law had a kz350 up until about 5 years ago those may say 350cc but have no problem keeping up with my 1000cc 4-stroke.

Those things are bad @$$... :woohoo:

Originally known as the S2, became the KH series in 1976. That would make it a KH-350.

That's a space suit...
which is the recommended gear to handle the "rocket-thrust acceleration".

I cant imagine trying to stop that thing, light weight or not, with drum brakes on the front from 100mph.

They really weren't all that fast even back in 1973. An old Yamaha RD350 would outrun the Kawasaki by a wide margin. Neat though, all the old 2 strokes were neat.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

The triples were made in 250, 350, 400, 500, &750 CC sizes. None of them were designated as KZ but as "S" or "H". All of them were very nice bikes and very fast for their size.

I guess the Yamahopper really cleaned the Kaws clock, since it is supposed to be so much faster.

I'll get some old magazines out and compare them back when they were tested new. I could very well be wrong, but memory seems to recall the Yamaha ran high 14 second quarter mile times, the Kawasaki mid 15s. I'll post back one of these days. I can't really believe as Gospel a modern race between two 30 year old bikes, neither of which I would call mint.
