Let's see, I've had a 440 doing 95 mph beside a sportster and good friend.

I've had a stock 750 LTD doing 120mph but never had the courage to go past that, even in my younger crazy years. It still had throttle available. 4th gear btw, 5th is a wasted shift, it just takes longer to hit top end and won't go any faster. B)

The difference I found with the 1000 LTD was that it got to 120mph much faster, and with much more ease. LOL. Never had the balls to push it beyond that either.

In my old age (last 15 years) I drive the SLUG of Kawasaki 750's and even it will do 105 mph after a couple miles of screaming. (I still remember all those years ago when I walked into the shop I dealt with, and they asked "What the hell do you want that old SLUG for..?" I guess they figured I was addicted to my inline 4s and speed. heh)

Just my experience with the different models.

Yes i know its sounds like a stretch but believe my I'm not trying to boost my ego or anything like that. I rode next to my buddy who has an 07 zzr6 and we took off on the highway and cruised at highspeeds for a while. Afterwards I asked him what we were doing and he replied that i was keeping up with him at about 140 but not much more. Thats also with no baffles so exhaust breathes alot better at high rpms, and believe it was very high rpms. about 10.5k - 11krpms screaming and smoking. piston rings are about done i think. I would really like to see what I can change and just how fast I can get her to go.

My ZRX will only do 155 actual.
Your buddy blew smoke up your ass and you are trying to pass it on,that is not going to work.

140 is out there for sure. I know a stock, new KZ750 will exceed 120 and a stock KZ650 will run at right around 120 (having watch a KZ750 walk away from me when i was going an indicated 120 on my KZ650 back in the day). Regarding how fast can a modified KZ750 go; here's the scoop:

750 stats

Except those are not KZ750 bikes listed, every one is a 750 Turbo and a totally different kettle of fish than a KZ750.

Stock 83-85 GPz750 rated at 85 hp, with the stock fairing, in excellent condition, will hit an actual 135 mph on a good day.

I think Kawasaki rated the stock KZ750 at 120 mph, 74 hp and no fairing to cut the wind.

I "think" Lorcan was timed at 175 on a stock 750 Turbo.
On his record 211 mph run the video shows him smoking the rear tire when he shifts into 5th gear at 160 mph.

At Maxton on East Coast, one mile track on a closed runway.

APS/G-750/4 Paul O'Sullivan / Ace Performance Sal Spatafora May-09 184.586

That's naturally aspirated.

www.ecta-lsr.com/RecordsMoto3.php

Probably find a faster one at Bonneville

Each Racing Association maintains their own record books, I guess you'd have to check all of them to find the fasted 750.
But since they all run on different tracks, that probably wouldn't work either.

Here's a link to the El Mirage (left coast) motorcycle record book.
Don Vesco is still in there on a 750 at 189 mph from 1978 in ABF/G, just 5 mph slower that a 1000 in the same class.
