ok, so I tore into it, and it is in fact the advance mechanism, and securing bolt that are bent. I am super stoked, now I just have to find these items.

thanks, I found the parts at a local junker, have the bike running poorly, I am just trying to get it timed in now. I think I need to go get a timing light, my last one junked out on me!
