Here in Calif the minimum size for freeway use is 250cc, some scooters now have 500cc! I'm sure they will hit 90.

Hi I am not surprised, there are some new scooters around which have pretty big engines tucked away.
This Gilera GP800 delivers 65.5HP and has a V twin engine.

some of the scareiest test riding at work always involved scooters, their hinged in the middle and wag at both ends just like a labrador retreiver, scary damn things to ride.also some of the most fun has occured when a couple would be ready to test ride at the same time and a couple of us would go for a ride(race) around the block.nothing funnier to see than 2 or more 200 lbs+ guy's going flat out on 50 cc scooters lots of fun was had by all.

There are all kinds of scooters out there. If you look at the offerings from Honda and Suzuki, you can spend upwards of $9000 on a scooter. For that money I would hope they would run pretty well. They do have some good features, storage area, ease of use thanks to that useless automatic trans, shaft drive, (some European use chain, now that is "WORTHLESS" on a scooter), still retain centerstands long ago thrown out on new motorcycles, decent seating position and wind protection. Bad thing about them besides that transmission is those little wheels spinning down the road at 10,000 rpms and the bigger scooters get pretty poor fuel economy, worse than a large motorcycle. Not for me, but they have some appeal.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I have a 50cc scooter that will go about 30mph. My boss smashed it with a hammer and threw it out of the back of his truck when he went to visit his daughter in college, and found out she bought it behind his back with HIS credit card. I pulled it out of the dumpster at work and had a project :) He was so pissed he wouldnt even give me the title.......... So now it is a pit bike at the local dragstrip. I fixed all the plastic wraps that were destroyed with the stickers from the race cars instead of duct tape.  As far as storage I can fit a 12 pack of Bud Light bottles AND a bag of ice under the seat........Looks cool with all the Moroso, Holley, Milodon, Lucas Oil, STP, Weiand, Edelbrock stickers holding her together. My friends call it the Riding Cooler..... Cold drinks for everyone when I show up on that thing
