I got my complete almost perfect 77 last year for $1600 with 13K on the clock. I chenged the oil, put on a new rear tire and took off to Canada with no problems. $1500 is WAY too much for a project bike. Hell I'll sell you mine for $2500 and you won't need to do anything to it but put gas in it.

We agreed at a price of $1200. its a good price. As the bike is complete and in fine original cond. The chrome and engine cases are in good condition, no pitting. No broken fins etc. The paint a "diamond wine red" is actually better than i thought, will polish up clean. Will be a nice ride when i get it on the road. Very stock except for Kerker.
Oh boy a Kawasaki kz1000!!!:woohoo:

Here is a pic of the 1977 KZ1000.
funny i thought that it was the red, when in fact it is the blue w/ some fading to a reddish color on one side.
I also thought it had more miles. There is just over 5000 miles.

Other KZ's that i had looked at were really messed with. And i wanted one as stock as possible.
So yes it was a little more than i wanted to spend, but not much more. $1200.
Yes it will be a bit of work to get going. I better start saving some cash so i can send the carbs off to Wired George in Texas. He has done a great job for me in the past.
Will start looking for some original exhaust ( I know, good luck with that) or a nice Kerker.
And it does have pretty low miles.

Mad Kaw disease is not so so bad!
It sort of grows, you see a Kaw that you want and you just buy it- simple. You tell the family that "I know I have a lot of bikes already but this one is special". It is such a bargain that I am going to do it up and then sell it at a fat profit. Of course you never do because you then you want to keep it.
I have 9 KZ's now and still looking!!!
