Iron Butt Rally starts today was created by RonKZ650
Around 100 guys and gals start the rally from Spartanburg, SC today. Yes 10 women in this event 5 riding, 5 women passengers. Now that would be tough being a passenger for this 11,000 mile 11 day event. Registration was closed 1/08 so almost 2 yrs this event has been awaited by the *lucky* few riders. I wish I could be there. I wish them all a safe ride. No KZs are entered though surprisingly.:laugh:

that guy with the fjr1300 has some wild fuel tank he obviously means business. 11000 miles in 11 day's i don't think ive ridden that much in a year before.

That FJR1300 is John Ryan's. He's the guy that broke the record riding from Prudhoe Bay, AK to Key West a couple months ago 5600 miles in 86 hours. John just took a casual ride from NJ down to SC to see the riders off. That FJR had close to 150,000 miles on it last I heard, probably 160,000 now.

Rally is over. Sadly Davo Jones from Australia was killed in the ride after hitting a deer about 100 miles from the finish. Best wishes for his loved ones,
