KZ200 seat height? was created by Link14
I've been searching around for this info, but haven't had any luck. If I could find a small motorcycle for my wife, she might be interested in riding. I'd like to stay in the Kaw family.

She's only 5 ft tall so the seat height is the biggest issue for her. When we took a motorcycle riding course a couple of years ago, the only thing they had that would fit her was a virago 250. She didn't like it because it was too heavy.

I've spotted a 1977 kz200 on ebay that might work, but does anyone have one(or a manual) that they could tell me the seat height? I'm figuring that I'll have to have the seat redone and lowered, but it would be nice to know where to start. Then I'll end up painting the damn thing pink and probably have to put a basket on the back

Thanks for your help!

Link, The shop i work for services a couple Rider Programs, For the smaller riders, they offer the GZ250, and Honda ?vt/cb/sc? 250. both have higher seat heights than the Yam. and weight differences are minimal. the only other street bike that comes to mind is the cm185. for Kaw application, only th EX 250. and i believe It's taller than all. sorry, wish I had more. hey man, if you can pick up the kz that would be perfect for a beginner. The thing you could do to adjust the seat height is change the rear shocks, cause she will pretty much be sitting on em. See if you can find some that are shorter then stock maybe a couple inches.

You could also adjust the front forks but sliding the fork tubes up through the triple tree clamps a couple inches if needed.

You can pretty much make these adjustments on any motorcycle. It shouldnt effect handling or anything like that too much on a smaller lighter bike.

I think after a year or two of riding a 200 she will prolly move up...:)

But best of luck man!

I have both the owner's and shop manual for the KZ200 and seat height is not listed (you'll need that info from a current owner). However, another bike to consider is the Buell Blast...very low seat.

Suzuki Savage also has a low seat height of 26".

Compared to the Buell Blast's optional 25.5" seat height.

Boots with high heels, such as Western style, may also help.

Some riders modify the seat by cutting away some of the foam.

Good Luck! :)

I'd been thinking about lowering the shocks and modifying the seat (have a really good seat guy here in Fort Collins). Unfortunately I can't find that kz200 on ebay or craigslist anymore, so I may have missed out.

Thanks for the suggestions
