I almost got cuffed and stuffed tonight

i rode my z1 to work today, and when i was leaving my boss and a few other people i work with wanted to see what it would do on a straight away. Now it is loud as crapola, it has a 4 into 1 vance and hines sidewinder with a competition baffle i cut in half. So i start it up and let it warm up, i took off and pulled up to the stop light to make a left hand turn, i got the left arrow, i clicked it into 1st went around the corner all nice and such...........then i cracked it wide open and stood it up a few inches, shifted to second, and right when i shifted into 3rd i happend to glance off to the right..............and you guessed it, a cop sitting on the side street........i figured i was royally screwed.............and he came out dancing with his lights and sirens on. I pulled over, he asked me why the hell i just did that, i told him that i was showing a few people from work what kind of power it had. He said he clocked me at 64 in a 30. He was cool about it, he gave me a warning for the speeding and sent me on my way. He told me that it was reckless driving and i would have been arrested, but he gave me a break because there was no one around, and for the fact i actually pulled over. Turns out he used to have a turbo'd kz 1000 back in the day.

time to buy a lottery ticket!

LOL Next time ya might not be so lucky! Back in the day I know I would not have stopped!But that was in the 80s. Cops got bigger nuts these days seems like.

Your were luckey... His history with KZ is probably what kept him in check a bit. Glad to hear there is cop with a brain. Following the rules 100% is boring.

i got let go a couple years ago after doing almost the exact same thing.
i was speeding and he passed me comming the other way and i seen him do a u turn.
i turned on the next side street and pulled over and removed my helmet.
he came around that corner sideways, light flashing and siren blasting.
he seen me pulled over and just pulled alongside me.
he asked if i knew why i was being pulled over and i answered " because i was speeding officer "
he said he was sure i was making a break for it. he then thanked me for pulling over, asked my if me and the bike were legal.
( i lied. bike was. i was not )
he asked me to slow down and rolled his window up and rode away.
i dodged a bullet that day.
( and rode real slow home )
