It isn't George, he lives in Texas. I'd say it's someone stealing his idea and trying to make money selling $10.00 worth of parts for $45.00. I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later.

If you do a google search you will see many different "coil mods" for GSXR, CB750 and more. Some of the posts go back to 97 and 98 so I doubt anyone stole the idea from WG.

I have to agre with Shane. While this mod is known around KZR as the 'WG coil mod' it's a very common and old modification not specific to the KZs and George didn't invent it - might add that he also never claimed he did, nor did he even call it the 'WG coil mod', the name just sort of created itself as it spread between KZR members.

When I bought my 650 back in 03 it already had this mod, at that time I didn't even know of George as this was about 6 months before either of us joined KZR.

I still find it rather poor taste to try and profit from info that someone else makes available for free though.

Could someone post a link to any websight, to this subject. I am just curious what exactly the mod is. I remember when Harbor Freight used to sell a coil boos kit about 15 years ago, for $9.95.

Well WG could have done the same if he wanted to. If he patented his idea then it would have some recorse for things like this. But he decided to give his idea to the public domain, so all of us enthusiasts could benefit. This was bound to happen.

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

What rip-offs!

I make and sell a 3-relay kit for the lights and horn on British cars (MGBs), which includes a mounting bracket, three relays, all the correct color-coded wiring, connectors and a fuse which requires no soldering and only a basic knowledge of electrical systems! (You can check it out HERE )

Obviously I am selling myself short! By this standard - if one relay is worth $45, my kit should be worth about $120!
