Welcome, that sure is a nice clean LTD you have, you don't see a lot of that model.
No, It's a 1983 1100 LTD. Parts are hard to find. I lucked into this bike at a great price four years ago. It's an interesting story if anyone cares to hear it.

Sure why not we all like bike stories here. Seems like most of these old beasts have a story behind them.

Enjoy the ride and be careful, I hear there is alot of gravel and dirt after the snow melts. Now if you could mount a camera on the bars to catch a pic of your big ass grin on your face, for the first ride of the year.
I have a big ass grin on my face now, just thinking about it. I have it sitting out front of the house now. It started right up after this long winter, and purred just like last fall when I put 'er away. And yes, there is a LOT of sand on the roads! Hopefully the thunderstorms we're supposed to get this weekend will wash the roads off...

OK, here goes...
Once upon a time... (about 4 years ago) a friend of mine that buys and sells bikes as a hobby, found this Kawasaki sitting at our local Credit Union. Repossessed, I guess. It had sat in a barn for at least 2 years, and looked like it. It must have fallen over on it's right side at one time, because the brake lever was bent severely back and the right peg bracket was broken. The foam grips were rotting right off, and there were no keys. He Offered $300.00 for it, without hearing if it would even run. Took it to his house, replaced the plugs, charged the old battery, took the ignition switch to a locksmith (who cut a key for 14 dollars) and it started right up. Even with the old gas still in it. He said if I wanted it, (He's a Harley guy) that I could have it for $450.00. I felt bad (he is my friend, after all) so graciously I gave him $600.00 for it. I fixed the brake lever, put new grips on it, and had to have a charging problem sorted. Lots of polishing later, we're living happily ever after! Runs like a new one! Scary! THE END...

We all love stories like that!
And I just located a parts bike! My broken peg bracket, (muffler stay) should be here tomorrow! After a long, fruitless search...
