Well, there you go you see that if you pass up on this bike what you could be missing? Heck BUY it and then sell it for more. My friend unloaded two of his MKII's and he got not less than 6k a piece on ebay and one of them didn't even run very well at all. Buy it strip it and put it back to what she looks like stock and then sell her and with the money fix your 650. Either way you come out ahead if you like it BULLY you got a collector's item and if not BULLY you can sell it after you have done a few things to it and come away with a little more than you started so you can fix your 650. I rode a 650 and yeah I probably would not even consider anything smaller but if I had the chance I would always go for the 1000 especially a MKII!

Oh I wont be selling this one, this'll be with me forever, I'm only 23 so I'll be riding my KZ's for a lot longer yet. I've kind of made a pact with myself. If I ever come across an old gem like this that I can afford, I go for it, and keep it. And if its nice enough, it stays stock. Probably the only other bike I want to own at this point is a Z1 and a norton cafe racer.

I guess once I get out of college and get a full time job I have to start laying in spare parts for my bikes in case they stop making them. Gonna have to I guess, if I'm still riding at 65 like some of the guys on here both my bikes will be over 70.

BUY IT!!!!!!!! Any MK11 under 5k is a steal! The last one I saw on ebay didn't run and looked like it was pulled out of a swap. It went for $4400!

I love my province. We're isolated enough that this guy doesn't know what this is, so I got it for $1700. On the other hand, finding good bikes is next to impossible. Thats why I had to snag this, and did.

There you go! Smart move T dub. You won't be disappointed. Now you have a good bike and a round town bike as well. Although I don't know how big the islands are. I missed on one that went for 1800 and was not a bad deal but painted and cleaned up/freshened up you could name your price and someone will buy it.
I remember when I was younger the talk about these bikes and the z1rs was that they sold for 10 grand all day long. It was a fable because I never saw one back then and that was 14 years ago. Imagine now. But the good thing is that the engine parts are bountiful which makes it a good bike to have.
Well then, congrats on a good deal.

Thanks!! I'm so excited now, I don't get back home till the 24th, I wont see her probably till the 28th or so. But she's a daily driver, so she'll run no problems. I'll definitely be posting up some pictures when she's home and cleaned up.

Hi T dub, contact me when you get back and get the bike .I am trying to redo my 79st (stripped to the frame )and may have a few ideas for cleanup that may make things a bit easier and faster with the cleanup.

Cool, yeah that'd be good. I stripped my KZ650 down to nothing a couple years back, sandblasted the frame, did a lot of stuff. Do you mean you have ideas or you want my ideas?

I may but you may have also ,some good ideas for cleanup.I have been using water paper and polishing compound to clean up the covers for example here is a pic.

Oh wow, thats real nice. I've got aluminum polishing wheels for that, don't think they work that well. It'd be great if you could show me that.

I tried all different ways to polish ,never dull, autosol mothers ,turtle polish ect and was never happy with the finish .I tried them all on the part after it was polished and it took the shine away a bit .

What kind of polishing compound are you using? I can get teh same result with my buffing wheels and compounds, but it takes a looooong time, I'd imagine water paper might be quicker. How do you plan on sealing the shine? I find anytime I shine any aluminum it just oxidizes again in two days back home.
