Clutch, you're killing me over here.
This is like one of those suspense thrillers... so what happened next?
BTW, the 750 looks like your kind of bike, even from way over here. Gooooo for it.
Best of success.

Another Update:
He called me this morning and left me a message (I am so not a morning person) saying that the bike swap sounds good. We just now need to find a time to meet up and swap bikes, spare parts, and titles.
I'm getting a 82 KZ750!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am totally stunned that you would even have given it a second thought. You just missed out on riding time that you could have been throttling around.
I remember when my ltd 1000 I couldn't get running right and then I found a zr1100 with 5000 miles on the clicker. I rode my girlfriends honda 250 rebel. Holy skizzo! I hated it but was desperate for a fix so I rode it. On the highway cars passing me at 80 and semis. ONA (Oh Never Again). You guys are right you can't get out of you're own way on a bike like that. I almost bought the farm when a semi turned in to my lane as I was passing by slowly.
I guess I can understand how ants feel around us giants. I tell you that bike couldn't have been much more than a moped. I enjoyed riding on behind with her riding as I had some nice cushions to rest my hands on.   I enjoyed those rides with her and especially the rides later.... But I was never so happy the day I rode off on the zr1100. I rode that bike like a red-headed stepchild with freckles and buck teeth gets ridden down south.

That's great news! You are going to love the bigger bike. I rode around on my 550 for a few years and was perfectly happy. Then I had a chance to pick up the 1000 for a song (almost literally) and once I got it running and took that first ride... what 550?
Ride safe, it's not a sickness... well yes I guess it is. but then, who cares?

remember what we said tho the 750 is only a stepping stone soon you be asking larry to do you up a monster cylinder head and talking to plummen about turbos and asking me about what kind of slick works best and then you will find that 900 or 1000 sitting around the corner really cheap. It's official...I now own a 1982 KZ750, and my 1980 KZ250 has gone to a new owner. I must admit that when I tried to start her up, I was feeling like I was duped. I kept pushing the magic button and nothing happened. Then I remembered a thread I came across on the forums here about some of the bikes having neutral safety switches. DUH! With the clutch lever squeezed she starts right up! (insert laughs here)
The 750 is definitely a better size bike for me. Though I did a short test drive a few days ago, I will be taking her out on her maiden voyage on open road tomorrow (weather permitting). I will also have some pics to post (both of the 250 from right before we swapped and the 750).
