Harley Davidson- Turning gas into noise without the harmful affects of horsepower for over 100 years.
I found a cheap GPz was created by kawtoy
As some of you know I put ads on Craigslist looking to buy older bikes in any condition. I get about 20 emails a day, mostly for overpriced crap I don't want. Examples just this week were 82 Honda Silverwing that needs battery and rear shock rebuild for $2100 and a CB 350 without title and could not even roll because it was solid rust for $750. You guys know as well as I do that some people think there old bike is valuable just because it is old.
Well yesterday I got an email from a guy with what he says is a 82 GPz 550. It is titled and runs but has sat 2 years. Also comes with another GPz 550 engine that has been torn apart. He was asking $500 for it but I will be picking it up tomorrow or Tuesday for $200. Looks like it will be any easy fixer upper. Just plan on making it look half way decent, make it run well and then sell it. I am not a GPz expert by any means so hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in here.

I certainly don't need any more bikes but for 200 bones I would have had a hard time saying no to that. Nice score Shane. It's too bad you didn't have that bike at Mid-Ohio a couple of years ago, would have made things much easier on the Momba crew.

Yeah, I'd jump on it, and try to keep it.
A buddy of mine bought one last year for $250, not running. It took very little work to get her going.

All I can say is that's not an '82 or '83. I don't remember all the differences, but that's an '84 or later. Probably still a good buy though.
