Here's a shot of my 76-900. I've tried to get it back to stock( with the exception of the Vance & Hines pipe...couldn't afford a Kerker)after the original owner had turned it into a disco tourer.I still have a few things to take care of but for the most part it is almost there.

Pretty close, just a few things...stock mirrors, instrument cluster refurbish, new cables, and I'm still trying to find a silencer to the air filter box.But after that I would say that it's ready to just enjoy it and ride.

I view it regularly...but it's funny I just read the post "too much money for Z-1R???"....and there was an air box with silencer for $150...which is way out of my cash flow. But I'll just keep my eye open and hope for the best.

You've done a very nice job; the bike looks sharp. Your observation about the high cost of original parts makes me wonder how many guys buy relatively stock bikes and cut, discard, or otherwise waste original parts that are hard to find (exhaust systems, airboxes, handlebars, fenders, etc.).

The rear shocks are not right for a 76... those are Z1 shocks, by the way. Nice bike. Someday I am going to attempt a bona fide restoration... the thought of paying $1500 for pipes keeps me in the thinking mode. Refurbs will have to do for me till then. wg

Did you repaint the bike or is that original? If you repainted, what did you use for paint? Paintworkz?
Looks good. You can get the correct repop shocks for the 76 for less than $100.00 on ebay.
