If it's an "A" model or a MKII, anything under 4K is a deal.

It's not, *all* 1980 KZ1000s are either the LTD or the ST. They didn't build anything else. Well they did, but you're not going to find them hidden in a garage every day. A ST is still worthwhile, a LTD has little value.

The price of a used KZ in any condition seems to be going up. The upper part of the pricing structure seems to be holding steady but the lower end bikes seem to be bringing more. No one asked this guy WHERE the bike is located. You won't find many barn find-type bikes in Texas. Guy has a ratty 88 cop bike sitting out in the elements for sale about 10 miles from here. Sign says $1600, runs like a top, has electrical problems and the bike is RATTY. He will get the $1600 I am guessing. I would offer no more than $600 but it seems the days of a $600 KZ are dwindling to zilch; at least in my neck of the woods.

The A models are getty real spendy. I had an a2a that I got about 10 years ago for $1000. It got ripped off and wrecked. If I still had it I could get probably 5-6k for it. The last one I saw on ebay went for $4400 and it didn't even run.
