Polishing Parts (again)

I was doing Yamaha today and there were small flaws. I polished some Suzuki parts last year and they were the pitts.(literly)
I hate casting flaws. They turn a fairly easy job into a bummer chore.
Just venting!:woohoo:

The only method I have found is to actually polish it off - which takes ages. I have tried all the usual paint removers, but nothing seems to work.

I have been using the blue clay. I think it is for stainless and it seems to get heatin the alunimun faster.
Heat from the friction of the polishing process seems the biggest factor in removal of the coating.
I get the alum so hot i burn my hands if i happen to touch a area where my gloves have holes.

Well I have some forks on my 80 that I got some really coarse steel wool and knocked em out without having to deal with corrosive stuff and fumes. Then I used finer wool and be darned if it didn't look really shiny before I hit it with fine sandpaper and buffed it. It is tedious work but that is what makes your bike stand out from others.Speaking of polishing parts - does anybody know an easy way to remove the clear laquer that the Japanese manufaturers put on polished aluminum? You know, the stuff that eventually starts to peel off, turns yellow and looks disgusting.
