you can use acotch bright pads to clean the surface.if you can't get it all off then use the permatex.what nut are you talking about?

It's part# 92015 in the diagram on the first page of this thread - the little guy that holds the whole clutch basket assembly together.

On each side of the paper gasket. I coat each metal surface with a light film to fill those microscopic blemishes left by scraping the old gasket off.

couldn't tell you anything about that nut,i didn't have to touch that when i did my clutch. someone else should know
