MILES PER TANK was created by luv my KZ1000LTD
Now the gas mileage is such a big deal. I have been wondering just how many miles can other riders get on a tank.

Several thing to consider: The state of tune of the engine valves within tolerances, fresh sparkplugs burning a light tan on the electrodes,
Clean air filter(s),Tire pressure at the max, Chain lubed and properly tensioned, and both sprockets in good shape.

Yeah, I have notice the same thing with that "spirited riding thing" sometimes I get nervous around 60-65 miles on a tank.
My bike is well tuned and chain with is lubed. But it seemed like I got about 175 mi. on a tank the other day and it was hard to believe.

Ive gone around 130 miles on a tank with my mk2. But never ran it dry so I don't know how much further I could go. Come to think of it, that's not including the reserve, with a pingel petcock.

I hit reserve at about 125 miles on a tank. I try not to use reserve except in emergency's when I forget to gas up.

I've gone 150 miles on the 550 without having to switch to reserve, I don't trust the fuel gauge on the 1000 yet so usually top that off every 100 miles.

100 miles is the number for me. Beyond that I've gotten into trouble.
