A friend just bought a 2006 Honda Big Ruckus. It's a weird lil' 250cc wet cooled, cvt, single lung scooter. Odd lil' thing. I took a short ride on it (it's too cold) and wow it is neat. I wouldn't go touring or on a long haul but I got it to 60 no sweat and it still had some passing power. Just wondered if anybody had any experience with them. The reviews I find are all pretty good. They only made them for 2 years so I guess they didn't sell. Sorry for mentioning the H brand but curiosity got the better of me and I know a lot of people here are not purists. Can't wait for next season to take it to the local bike nite. We like to park in the Hurley section just to hear the grumbles. I usually take my 76'900ltd and he has a Roberts Replica Bumble Bee Yammie but the Ruckus should raise just that... "a Ruckus"! Can't wait. :P

I seriously thought about buying a Kymco scooter for commuting - they get good reviews too!

I hear ya on the "bike night" parking. We take the 650 and park with the hurleys. Funny thing is, when we return more often than not there are half a dozen Harley types admiring the KZ - often to the disgust of other Harley owners! Mary got the biggest laugh from one of them - a real "biker" type - when we arrived he simply said "cool Kawi man!" It is now Mary's mantra! B)

The Ruckus, got pretty popular here when they first came out. I love the ruff and tough looks on a tiny moped.
Problem is the seat height is low and the riders seem to get swallowed in a sea of traffic. The same reason I think the Rebel is a bad first bike.

I did feel kinda low but I was comfortable too. It's the sticks here so getting lost in traffic is not a problem. The passenger seat folds up to make a pretty big back rest which I thought was cool. By biggest concern was the tires. They are kinda small and once in a while we get some pretty big pot holes (mostly in spring) but I can't imagine taking one on with those wheels. The thing looks military and tough.

I get offers of "lets chip in and buy the old man a real bike" and stuff like that. I usually say if they are gonna get that much change together if they would instead buy me 5 good bikes I would like it better. I got a lot more years of nut busting in me than most of them. But that's cool cause there are those who come up to talk and not just pose too. Mostly the posers are pissed cause we disrupted their theme. That's the best show. But all of the riders seem to flock together by make and they all pose. Hurley riders are the best at it tho. Guess things are the same everywhere. ;)

There is a Ruckus running around town. A guy and his kid ride around town and one of them is on the Ruckus. It kind of reminds me of the old Briggs and Stratton powered "mini-bikes" of the late '60s/'70s.

I rode an '86 50cc Honda scooter for awhile there and so I can positively say that they'll keep going no matter what you do to them and I always thought the Ruckus looked fun

a friend of mine has a honda elite 150 scooter that he uses as a pit bike and i can testify how tough they are they can haul at least 500+ lbs of drag racers with ease. he fills it once a season and goes every where at the track. it is a great little bike and nothing ever goes wrong with it.
