We got a light dusting of snow for the first time yesterday....soooo.....that's the end of riding for this season, barring some kind of "weather miracle". I guess I'll have to winterize the 2 bikes I still have as daily runners and put 'em away for the winter. Have I ever mentioned that I hate winter ??:P Well, maybe once or twice....
I really need to put a new chain and sprockets on my GT550 and new tapered headstock bearings and new tires, etc etc etc.
I really need a nice warm place for the winter where I can set up my tools, etc and do some serious maintenance on my bikes. An uninsulated, unwired garden shed really doesn't cut it.:(
How is YOUR winter riding season going ?? Sunbelt folks need not reply.....

Well here in Michigan i have rode my bike to work every day this week:) The weather has been so nice but i heard it will be getting colder in the next couple of days.

I too have a few things i need to do to my bike over the winter, like polish the can on my yoshi pipe, some carb work etc...

most of my bike i put up about two weeks ago. all the gas and batteries are out of the KZ's and CB's. the KLR and the Harley are still ready to go, but i think next week they will be stored. The battery is staying in the BMW this winter cause it is too difficult to get out. I think i will get a tender for it this year (30 dollar charger to save a 20 dollar battery, makes sense to me :)
they are saying snow here next week, the good times are over :(

Had a short fast ride today because of great weather. Could be the last of the year though.

Best of success. :)

I winterized the SR on Tuesday evening after giving both 650s a bath. I took a short ride on the 650B and parked it with gas in the garage along with Seafoam. I suspect I'll get a couple of nice evenings yet this fall to bomb around town.

Snow expected in the next 10 days so I've pulled the plug on the 2008 season. Bike is under-canvise in the yard. That's right no storage space.

2008, Phase 1 is over. This was the summer when the amount of riding finally exceeded the amount of wrenching. It was all about poor electircals, carburetion and ignition. Oh yah, and I learned that I am someone who really needs a windshield to cruse in comfort on day trips. :P

2009, Phase 2 will be the aesthetic upgrade. The paint is not original so I can change without committing original paint sin. I'm leaning towards a candy red look with an OEM strip kit from Z1 Ent. It won't be a real restoration but hopefully good enough to get by. :cheer:

Plans, plans, plans. There's a lot of sanding in my future.

2010, Phase 3 should be the engine aesthetic upgrade. Most likely blasting, polishing and sealing aluminum parts. B)
