Roy Gets Another Bike

I saw this bike on eBay last week so i went to check it out since it was close to home.

It was a decent bike with a extended swingarm. I rode it a short distance to make sure the tranny was ok.

I waited until the auction was over and it did not sell, called the guy up and made arrangments to pick it up. I just got it home and need to tear the carbs down and see what jets are in it.

It had the Corbin seat,Dyna coils and plate,and Vance and Hines exhaust.

I think the engine is close to or stock. I just pulled the carbs and they are 28 pumpers.The jets are 17.5 and 117.5. K+N pods that look like they need replacing.

I need to check the timing and the coil voltage.

I thought the gas tank was a big KZ900 tank but it has the petcock that is held in with two screws and has a vacum line to activate the fuel flow.

I need to dig out a regulator and install signals on the bike. Also there is no licence plate bracket.

that is a thousand tank then. if youll take two you must have got it really cheap good for you. notice when you find something good the wolves are sitting sharpening their fang's i know because that's what i'm doing now.

There has been some nice KZ 900/1000 on eBay latley. Good prices too.

The guy i bought the bike off of knows of some parts bikes and i told him i would give him a finders fee if he found old Kawasakis.

I hope i have time to get the bike running decent before the weather turns cold.

On the way home we stopped to eat and two guys walked out to the truck and was checking the bike out. One wanted to race me as he has never had anyone to put his bike against. Sounded good until i found out he had a ZX14. That would be no race.

He went and got his Zx which had 2300 miles and showed us what it would do. After he got back and we were in the restraunt i told him i was first in line to ride it. He gave me his helment and gloves and he came out and watched me show him what it would do. AWSOME!!!!:silly:
