yes loczuna you have the correct view of chopper/bobber.
chopping frame tubes=chopper
bobbing fender,brackets,body parts=bobber
a bobber could also be considered a stripper:P ,oh yea.
strip all the unnecesary b.s. off.

Choppers and Bobber/Strippers eh?
Well then.....I have rode a few strippers....I'll leave it to you to determine just what exactly I'm talking about! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Please note this could be considered a trick question since there obviously is an alternate answer, which would read "all of the above".

I'd rather be shot than be seen on one, but why waste valuable time when for only $3500 you can buy a KZ650 all bobbed out and beeutiful?

Question....
Now I can be wrong here... Most of the Bobber postings all have a KZ650 motor and not the 900 or 1000 motors. Is there a reason for this?
NOTE: I realize no Z1 1973-75 should be chopped or Bobbed.
1976 & up 900 & 1000 motors, seem to be dime a dozen.
OMR

Im not sure OMR. I have seen a few 900 and 1000 bobbers and choppers. But there are far many more smaller bobbers and chops. Maby its that the 650's and such can be bought for dirt cheap. I really dont know.

Maybe cause they really are not racing or handling machines. The chopper is eye candy. No offense to the chop people but they don't handle or ride that good so why stuff a high perf. engine in there. The 650 makes great power, great economy and are more plentiful. It is a great engine.
The bobbers can handle a little more in terms of performance. Usually their geometry is not radical but putting apes and such on does reduce handling and comfort. So to me it's a tossup.
I also find that while most people want the big fire breathing engines there really are few riders that justify them. Not everyone can utilize the performance of the beasts on the street. Strip is another thing. But on the street sometimes a mid bike has a better useable power range than the beasties. They can also be more fun than the big brothers. It's like anyone can go out and but a Viper but not everyone can really drive one.
BTW I have nothing against eye candy and enjoy looking at it be it flesh or metal!
