Funny that you mention shoes, for some reason in Colombia shoes are a big deal, especially name brand shoes. Me, I don't get it, I've never in my life paid more than $30.00 for a pair of tennis shoes but in Cali you see people all over wearing really expensive tennis shoes.

When I went there to get married, I brought along a pair of my beat up dirty shoes with me to wear, my wife was appalled to see me wearing such shoes. That is something I'm going to have to break my stepsons of, the desire for expensive tennis shoes. I think I can do it by telling them if I buy you an old vintage bike for a couple of hundred bucks and you work on it and clean it up, in 6 months time it can be worth maybe a thousand, but if I buy you a $200.00 pair of shoes, in 6 months they will be worth nothing, then they might get the picture.

My wife has had her own Visa card from my bank for a year and a half now and every month I pay the bill. For all I know I've shod half the barrio.

Well, in this end of the world, a running POS is worth a G note plus if it's 500cc or bigger. If it's in decent shape then the price jumps up to a G and a half plus. Heck, guys are selling 1200 Lead Wings for 4 G's plus. Decent 80's and early 90's bikes are just too rare for the prices to be held down. As the squid bikers say: Ya gotta pay if ya wanta play.
And don't get me started on the Chinese crap.....
