I don't know, maybe it has some symbolic meaning or something. All I could think of is what happens when that thing gets caught up in your front wheel spokes, or flies up and snaps you in the face.
Dumb dumb dumb.
I was able to snap this photo with my cell phone. Doesn't really give you a good sense of the length of the stap, but it sure looked to me to be long enough to be dangerous.

Never seen that before. Usually just the 12" leather streamers. Just like on my grand-daughter's tricyle.
Funny that people put stuff on their bike that can actually make it MORE dangerous to ride.
I always shake my head at the spikes and batwings that adorn Harleys. "He would have survived the spill, but his bike killed him when he fell on it".

"He would have survived the spill, but his bike killed him when he fell on it".
"Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are!"
But, yeah, tassles and fringe just aren't my thing and I can't see the point of festooning a bike with either.

You gotta love the "Harley Look". A good friend's wife wants him to get a Harley because....
wait for it....
She likes the clothes! Never mind he has never ridden a street bike. She wants to be able to have her cosmetically enhanced bod perched on a harley festooned in Harley gear.
Sigh.....

Normally I would agree with you. This one has a body like a 10 yr old boy with gigantic, super-fake knockers. There is such a thing as too much plastic surgery. Example: She had her eyebrows lasered off and then painted back on. I told her it looked like she was in an industrial accident. Oops.

Yep, a good friend of mine (a zillion mile rider of everything BUT Harleys) went through that with his sister-in-law at a family get-You gotta love the "Harley Look".
together, as in:
"Oooooo.....your brother and I just LOVVVVVVE the Harley lifestyle. You know...the clothes and everything...."
My friend said he almost puked....and then mentally said "WTF, is this beatch on bad glue???"....then started to quiz her about how many miles they'd put on their Harleys so far that season. Things went downhill from there.
I still laugh every time I think of my friend telling me this story
with the appropriate voices and gestures.
Great comic relief....
As a buddy of mine from another board puts it:
Oh....are you looking for the Village People reunion on the next block ???
